Stone home restoration near Maxville

Hubbard and Co. undertook the restoration of this simple 1 ½ story stone near Maxville, Ontario in 2005. Like many of our projects this one started with a careful review of the existing home and its attributes.

Enhancing a Stage

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture. This solid stone structure is the third church on this site and was built in 1893. The interior is well appointed with all of the woodwork being made from southern yellow oak. St. Andrews is well known for its excellent acoustics. The acoustics have aided a number of ministers over the decades in delivering their messages.

Restoring a Loyalist Stone Home

This stone home sat vacant in a field north of Prescott, Ontario for close to 25 years until my clients (a young couple with their first child) bought it in 1997. The home never had plumbing or wiring and was in very poor condition.
