Turning an ugly wall into usable space: the client wanted the back wall parged in order to hide some sins. After discussion and the realization that parging would make an ugly situation worse. It was decided to build a 2 storey porch on the back. The porch allowed the builder an opportunity to hide the mess and to create some useable outdoor space at the same time.
