Hubbard & Co.

Past Projects 2001

1. Bathroom Renovation, Prescott

This bathroom was designed by Brad Hubbard to fit the character of a circa 1840 stone home in Prescott, Ontario. An interior stone wall was exposed and provides an intriguing backdrop to this 3 piece bathroom. The floor is in a herringbone pattern and was made from re-claimed pine. The room includes a pedestal sink and a custom accented shower along with a custom designed/built medicine cabinet.

2. North Dundas Cultural Center, Winchester

Built around 1904, this community hall has been through a re-birth! A series of un-sympathetic improvements over the years had left the building looking old and out of date. However, with multiple renovations and some new additions, the town hall has been given new life!

The Winchester Fire Department garage, which connects to the building, has been converted into a theatre which will be used as a multi-purpose room by many different local groups.

Authentic trim, moulding and wainscotting, along with thorough redecoration and painting on the interior, play a large part in the new renovation. New details such as mirrors that mimic original architectural details are found throughout the interior. Even the new paint was taken from a 100 year old paint chart!

A new addition has also been added to the building to provide more storage space as well as a fully accessible washroom.

This building is expected to become a focal point of the community, where everyone can meet and where numerous local events can take place. With the new theatre, a display area, and fully accessible facilities, there is no doubt that the North Dundas Cultural Centre will accomplish that, while maintaining the integrity of the original building.

3. Private Residence, Kemptville

This former school house was built circa 1860 and converted to a private home around 1890. It has been in the same family for the past two generations. Our client, after being away for a number of years, has decided to move "back home" and live at her childhood home. The project involved complete but sympathetic improvements to the interior of the home.

We installed new mechanical systems along with new windows and wall finishes. Original trim was supplemented and replaced.

4. Gate and Posts, Prescott

This gate and posts were designed by Prescott, Ontario landscape architect Joe McFarlane to complement the historic style of his home. Over the years Mr. McFarlane and Brad Hubbard have teamed up on many successful residential landscape projects in eastern Ontario as well as several municipal projects.
