Fort WellingtonIn 1983 I undertook the replication of the cannon carriages at Fort Wellington in Prescott, Ontario. The plans for the work were developed by Parks Canada historians. We were asked to execute the work wearing period costumes by curator Paul Fortier of Parks Canada. It was fun lifting the heavy 24 pounder cannons atop the carriages after we completed our work.
We also completed work inside the blockhouse at Fort Wellington. We built a display in the downstairs called the commissariat stores. This involved traditional joinery bead plank paneling. We produced replicated items for the display at my parents shop in Spencerville. We also did minor home improvements at various locations throughout the area.
